Red Gate Cottage is situated at Dennes Point, a site surrounded by beaches, bushlands and national parks. Beautiful beach walks can begin right from the cottage steps.
Dennes Point is a celebrated location for swimming, whale/dolphin-spotting, bushwalks, fishing and boating/sailing. The licensed Jetty Cafe, Restaurant, Produce Store and Art Gallery are a short 20 minute walk from the cottage. Bruny Island's dramatic landscape includes sheltered sandy beaches, bushlands, tall forests, farmlands, open bays and wild coastlines. To enjoy all the attractions and adventure that Bruny Island has to offer, you are encouraged to bring a camera, binoculars, swimming costumes/wetsuit, walking shoes and warm clothes. |

Getting To Bruny island
Bruny Island is located south of Hobart. The Bruny Island Ferry departs from Kettering, a 40 minute drive south of Hobart. The ferry departs approximately 10 times per day and often shuttles more frequently in peak seasons. It carries vehicles and passengers, no bookings required. Price is dependent on vehicle length and payment is made with cash as you drive on. The crossing takes approximately 20 minutes.
